Day Shift:  9AM to 5PM (Monday through Friday)

 

In this role you are responsible for a variety of manufacturing activities including distribution of work and problem solving to ensure production needs are met daily in the most cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:

  • Coordinate closely with production schedulers and team leaders to remain current on work schedule and expedite requirements of high priority projects.
  • Coordinate with Production and Programming Support to facilitate timely disposition of non-conformances. Ensure the highest quality standards are maintained within the team. Support 5Y investigations and help drive corrective actions.
  • Prepare daily shift reports to share with applicable team members/leaders to ensure priorities, machines down, staffing shortfalls, workflow issues, etc. are clearly communicated timely to off shifts.
  • Prioritize daily tasks for team members to assure on-time delivery and effective capacity utilization.
  • Monitor project shortages and act as liaison with all key departments within the business.  Monitor work centers for progress to the plan.
  • Make decisions based on the priorities of the business.  Exhibit ability to adjust to change and flex work style frequently.
  • Proactively identify and provide solutions for capacity constraints. Make suggestions on how to assign resources and prioritize projects in order to meet the planned milestones for each project.
  • Ability to provide Team Leader with impartial and honest feedback with regards to team performance. Support team member development through mentoring and coaching.
  • Support data collection and BCC report out.
  • Able to represent the team during Team Leader absences.
  • Drives and maintains team specific processes and continuous improvement in all areas using 5S, Lean, Kaizen and Six Sigma tools.
  • Works closely with other internal teams to ensure seamless trouble shooting and manufacturing issue resolutions.
  • Manages workflow and prioritizes production orders using Fastems system.
  • Production work as required.  Assistance in some backup responsibilities for Production Scheduler as required.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  Demonstrated ability to effectively handle a high volume of orders daily.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter and team player who can work with little supervision with ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Solid computer skills, including Excel.  Experience with MRP systems such as Baan is a plus.
