Job Description

The plastic test department at Husky plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction.  In addition to being responsible for validating customer molds and systems before they leave Husky, the test room also serves as a critical touchpoint with customers that can help us to better understand what they truly value.  Our focus of the test department is to gain a deeper understanding of what customers value and spending more effort on validating that these expectations are met.

 As a member of the Processing team, the incumbent will help to expand our internal knowledge and understanding of plastics processing and help provide a structured approach to plastic testing.  This will be achieved through a scientific approach to plastics processing, troubleshooting and design of experiments.  The incumbent will strive to support the Plastic Test department in achieving customer satisfaction by helping to improve our commitment process by closing the loop with our solutioning and development teams with respect to our actual processing capabilities.

Responsibilties

  • Prepare molds for installation in the injection molding machine with know how into hydraulics, pneumatic & electrical devices

  • Develop and grow Husky’s knowledge base in plastic processing by executing into a professional and standardized test plan with associated value-added documentation

  • Operate injection molding machines and all upstream and downstream equipment (hopper loader, boxing systems, conveyor, visual inspection systems)

  • Analyze inspection reports in cooperation with the Quality Lab.

  • You will in addition interact with different engineering teams (AE, Mold engineering etc) to support root cause analysis during the mold debugging phase

  • Establish and maintain global standard guidelines for processing, and troubleshooting best practices

  • Continually expand Husky’s processing knowledge by using a systematic approach to experimentation and scientific research

  • Build relationships with customer’s and gain a better understanding of their expectations

  • This role will involve 10% - 20% travel to support customer startups and gain insight into customers’ needs Maintain tidiness of Test Room area (injection molding machines, auxiliaries and test equipment)

Qualifications

  • Hands on experience in plastic processing with minimum of 2 years’ work experience gained in an industrial environment

  • Good experience of Husky injection molding technology, tools and machines is required with knowledge of Husky products, tools, standards, processes & technology is an advantage

  • Advanced knowledge and use of analytical tools and methods are key requirements for this position

  • Root cause analysis and problem-solving oriented personality is mandatory

  • With self-initiative, high personal integrity and high motivation, who enjoy working in a team

  • English is mandatory / additional languages is an asset
