Job Description
We are currently seeking an Engineering Team Leader Application to join our Advanced Solutioning and Sustainability team. You will lead and develop a team of internal experts to keep Husky at forefront of smart & iconic packaging, application development and sustainability solutions. The role will be responsible as well for application research (low ARL understanding) and unlock value from customer need to solution.
Responsibilities:
- Strong leadership through organization, motivation, and personal involvement
- Forecast industry, application and market trends to help establish product and technology roadmaps with the focus to embed AI and further develop our Advantage + Elite (A+E) offering
- Development of open communication amongst team, across disciplines and outside engineering
- Lead scientific-based investigations to better understand the influence of new materials/resins/recycled materials on Husky applications and products.
- Data-driven scientific approach: First principles research, scientific relationships and numerical analyses to better interpret and predict poorly understood physical phenomena (causation vs. correlation)
- Develop presentations and reports showcasing Husky’s sustainability efforts for a wide range of target audiences = ex. Potential Investors, C-Suite, Customers, Governments, Employees, and students
- Work closely with larger I&S team to develop new technologies from a theoretical model to a working model
- Manage project timelines, resources and budgets
Qualifications:
- Chemical, Mechanical or Plastics Processing Engineering Degree
- 5-10+ years of experience in related industries
- An in-depth understanding of injection molding concepts, system operation and behavior and an advanced knowledge of rheology and polymer properties relevant to processing.
- Ability to translate customer needs into innovative solutions utilizing Husky`s technology suite
- Understanding of blow molding concepts, application development and package performance
- Ability to use science and systematic methodologies as practical tools to find meaningful technical solutions for Husky’s product offering
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Strong leadership skills and experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team

- Strong project, time management skills and ability to delegate tasks and projects
