This is an individual contributor role in which you will be responsible for driving the sourcing strategy to support the NPS category supply lanes within a defined global region.

 

In this role you will be responsible for driving the Indirect spend sourcing strategy within North America to support the NPS categories. You will support cross-functional teams through all stages of the sourcing processes and ensure that the defined strategic processes are adhered to, and cost reduction targets and service improvements will be achieved. You will operate from our location in Bolton, ON reporting to the Global Indirect Procurement Leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide regional input on the overall strategy for the category and execute the regional aspect of the strategy.
  • Develop and lead strategic sourcing initiatives within the region, with the support of the Global Sourcing Manager.
  • Lead RFx processes including preparation of packages, interfacing with suppliers and evaluating responses.
  • Lead supplier negotiations in the region and set up any type of agreement (NDA, MSA; SLA; Consignment agreement, Procurement agreement etc...)
  • Drive continuous improvement in the NPS Goods and Services provision through the implementation and enhancement of service level agreements.
  • Execute service and supply contracts.
  • Maintain document libraries for templates, forms, contracts, and sourcing initiative records.
  • Own and deliver necessary outcomes for critical and operational Strategic and operational suppliers. First point of contact to resolve any regional supplier issues or concerns.
  • Provide inputs as necessary to Global Sourcing Managers and Global Indirect Procurement Leader.
  • Drive and achieve results to Husky’s annual budget.  Track material cost savings and PPV changes
  • Stay up to date on purchase order status, next point of escalation after the Purchasing -Team Leader
  • Provide inputs on lead times, supplier capacity and variability risks as inputs to inventory management.  
  • Provides input on readiness and potential shortages.
  • Ensure all materials within the region are shipped as required by lead time definition.
  • Assist to resolve issues on the supplier’s side.
  • Coordinate appropriately with supplier and internal business contacts where applicable to resolve issues including relentless root cause analysis and error-proofing to mitigate impact to the business.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or company policies, procedures, work rules, standards, and guidelines, etc.
  • Support Global Indirect Procurement Leader and NPS Global Sourcing Managers as required
  • Support Fleet operations and policy management

 Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree or Bachelor’s degree in business is preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a Commodity /Sourcing role or equivalent role with strong network regionally with in-depth knowledge of key players and market drivers.
  • Project Management Skills or Project Management Certification would be considered a strong asset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office and other software tools for analysis, ERP knowledge
  • Focused on delivering exceptional results, knowledge / understanding of the commodities and a demonstrated passionate sense of ownership.
  • Experience with formulation of regional sourcing strategy and/or creation
  • Technical understanding of the manufacturing processes involved in producing the final commodity parts is preferred.
  • Experience in technical assessment, limitations, and opportunities during introduction of new product development or technology
  • Understanding of "total landed cost" concepts, basic cost accounting and inventory optimization
  • Understand lean manufacturing principles, experience with process mapping.
  • Negotiation experiences preferred.
  • Analytical acumen; Strategic Thinker
  • Extremely organized with superior follow-up and follow through, able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to tailor communications to audiences at all levels, including senior leadership, 
  • Relationship builder with willingness to provide excellent customer experience
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, global environment
  • Basic knowledge of contract law is an asset
