The Business Development role is responsible for prospecting, qualifying and generating leads to grow the sales pipeline for new and existing customers. This would include developing an understanding of new categories of customers and looking at customers currently in adjacent markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identification and development of new business prospects
- Prioritizes prospects
- Evaluates cold prospects based on defined criteria
- Focus time on highest potential prospects
- Includes introducing of our solutions to the appropriate level of leadership with the prospects we are targeting
- Follow up on leads and related research to identify potential prospects and close loop
- Identify new areas of growth based on local trends, legislation changes, new markets, etc.
- Prioritizes prospects
Research and delivery
- Researches and synthesizes the businesses and industries of our prospects
- Stays customer centric through the entire sales process
- Develops a sales hypothesis
- Conducting needs analysis to identify customer painpoints that will enable a solution that targets unmet needs (known and unknown to the customer)
- Gain understanding of organizations buying process and cycle as well as identify key buying influencers within these prospects to determine budget and timeline.
- Translates research into compelling sales hypotheses and value messages that serve as a starting point for prospecting efforts
Develops and works the plan
- Develops action plan with multiple touch points over a defined timeframe
- Uses networking skills to “break in” with customer
- Build and cultivate relationships by both initiating and following up with communication in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel
- Leverages direct sales managers where applicable
- Targets value statements to key contacts demonstrating to the value of Husky products and services
- Executes on plan
- Manage data for new and prospective clients within CRM - this includes all customer touchpoints both verbal and documents
- Working with the Regional VP of Sales, develop and grow the sales opportunity pipeline with a focus on meeting both revenue and order targets

Moderate to frequent travel within your region
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of selling experience in a similar industry
- Proven track record of strong customer relationships
- Experience with preliminary validation of customer on first contact
- Understanding and ability to demonstrate the financial drivers and aspects of the beverage and packaging operations
- Experience in value selling and changing the customers accepted ways of operating
- Excellent at preparing and delivering professional presentations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Works independently and leads business initiatives across our different business units as needed
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Strong public speaking skills - Ability to speak at conferences, tradeshows, webinars, etc.
- Experience utilizing CRM software
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors in Business or Finance
- Cross-functional business experience
