Plan, manage, and process changes to standard parts and reference material used predominantly in the production design process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/Areas of Accountability:
- Electrical Design: Assist with the design and development of systems involving Industrial PCs, digital servo drives, fieldbuses, hydraulic power units, and heat control.
- Control Systems Development: Support the design and development of control systems for new products.
- Schematics Creation: Help create electrical schematics, including layouts and bills of materials.
- Cost Analysis & Design Solutions: Participate in cost analysis, specify electrical hardware, and contribute to developing new design solutions.
- Troubleshooting & QA: Assist with troubleshooting, participate in QA activities, and support technology development for injection molding machines.
- Collaboration: Work alongside senior team members, using Manufacturing and Design Process Methodologies.
CRITICAL CAPABILITIES
- Continuous improvement and opportunity development.
- Seeks opportunities to leverage closed loop learning when possible to enable and sustain industrialization of designs.
- Identify change management and sustainment opportunities at different points through RNC process.
- Familiarity with AC/DC servo drives, PC-based controls, distributed/centralized I/O hardware, and industrial bus technologies (Profibus, Sercos, Ethernet) is a plus.
- Work closely with Operations, GSC, Service, Product Development, Supplier Quality Engineers, and Market Managers to determine disposition of standard parts.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
- Post-secondary education (Bachelor’s in engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience
EXPERIENCE
- 2 or more years of elctrical engineering work experience
